The Woman in Black

Why see The Woman in Black?

A gothic ghost story

For over three decades Stephen Mallatratt's masterful adaptation of Susan Hill's terrifying tale thrilled audiences in the West End, raising pulses and eliciting shrieks at every performance. Now, after the curtain drops for the final time at the show's London home, it's time for the rest of the UK to experience the nightmare for themselves. You have been warned!

What is the story?

The story of Arthur Kipps, a young clerk sent to settle the estate of the late Alice Drablow and the horrors he encounters at her isolated home, Eel Marsh House, The Woman in Black is a true theatrical phenomenon, running uninterrupted in London for 28 years. Mallatratt and director Robin Herford have ingeniously turned Hill's novel into a two-man show, played out on a sparsely decorated set, employing every tension-ratcheting sound and light effect in the book. If that wasn't enough, the action isn't confined to the stage, meaning that the story of Kipps and the mysterious phantom that haunts him can occur anywhere in the auditorium - even right next to your seat!

Fans of hair-raising horror and things that go bump in the night will love this creepy spine-chiller.
