The Stoke Sentinel was full of praise for the production and said, "The movie and pop culture phenomenon has landed with a bang and it's an evening of entertainment that doesn't disappoint." They continued with, "The combined eight-time Grammy award-winning pairing of Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard has led to a stunning musical with an all-new score alongside the movie's iconic hits, including The Power of Love, Johnny B Goode, Earth Angel and Back In Time."

The Manchester Evening News continued the praise with "...the intricate detail of every set...as the attention to detail in the way these much-loved characters are portrayed, that makes for such a fabulous show."

BroadwayWorld was full of adoration for stars of the show, Olly Dobson (Marty McFly) and Roger Bart (Doc Brown), saying "...from the first scene, you can see why he [Dobson] was cast. Dobson delivers his performance with the perfect amount of charm and wit throughout, and his powerhouse vocals fill the theatre during every one of his musical numbers". And, "Doc Brown, played by Roger Bart is everything you would imagine and more a lively stage presence with a great voice to match, Bart wows as the eccentric scientist."
